How it works
Stiffening the matrix at the fracture face slows the loss of conductivity that follows stimulation in soft chalk.
The problem
Proppant embedment reduces fracture conductivity and limits production. In soft carbonate the fracture face is the weak part: proppant sinks into it, the aperture pinches, and the flow path closes. Acid fracturing has the mirror problem, where the etched face softens after treatment and conductivity declines quickly.
The treatment
Pumped to the fracture face, where it reacts with the carbonate to raise the hardness and stiffness of the rock at the flow path. Proppant then sits proud of a harder face instead of sinking into a soft one, and an acid-etched face keeps its relief.
What it gives you
Resist embedment
Harden the face where proppant would otherwise sink in.
Propped and acid fractures
Applies both to a propped fracture and to an acid-etched face.
Protect the completion
Extend the productive life of the stimulation already paid for.
FracGuard Pro
A higher-performance grade, measured as a further increase in surface hardness on the same rock. No separate safety data sheet has been issued.
